Matcha Berry Smoothie Bowl
If you aren’t a big breakfast fan like myself this recipe is for you! A smoothie bowl is a yummy and light option to start your day off right. This super easy breakfast option can be literally whatever fruit and veggies need to be used up in the fridge. This recipe is my favourite and is packed full of vitamins and minerals.
I add matcha powder to all of my smoothies because I love the taste and its high in antioxidants and detoxifies the body. You can buy matcha at specialty tea stores or a health food store. I buy mine from Steeped Tea and David’s Tea because they carry flavoured matcha (vanilla and strawberry are my favourites).
Coconut water is my favourite liquid to add to my smoothies because its delicious and low in calories with no added sugar! Other low calorie options I use are cashew or almond milk. Topping your smoothie bowl is the fun part, I like to use fruit and granola on mine.
- 1/3 cup of coconut water
- 1/2 banana
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1/3 cup of vanilla or plain greek yoghurt
- 1/2 cup of frozen fruit
- 1 tsp of matcha powder
- Blend and pour into a bowl!
- Next add your toppings I used 1/2 a banana, fresh mango, cocoa flavoured granola and Cocoa Crunch whole food sprinkles (chia seeds, coconut and cocoa nibs) from Epicure.
