My Favourite Self Help Books
Are you looking for some inspiration and life changing tips? Self help books are a great tool to help you make big changes in your life. These books aren’t generally ones you want to read in a few days but over weeks. These books are thought provoking and require you to put in work. I just finished ‘Adventures For Your Soul’ and read a few chapters a week over the past few months. Here are my favourite self help books I have read!
Present Over Perfect
This book will help you become more present, worry less, slow down and simplify your life.
“Present Over Perfect is writer Shauna Niequist’s motto for how to live a rich, engaged, and loving life in the midst of what often feels terribly messy and imperfect. In vulnerable, honest stories and beautifully written short essays Shauna offers an invitation to a new way of living—full of grace, space, and connection.”
He’s Just Not That Into You
You may have seen the movie with Jennifer Aniston but the book is so much better! This is a great read for anyone in the dating world!
“He’s Just Not That Into You—based on a popular episode of Sex and the City—is tough love advice for otherwise smart women on how to tell when a guy just doesn’t like them enough, so they can stop wasting time making excuses for a dead-end relationship. It’s the best relationship advice you’ll ever receive.”
Add More ~Ing To Your Life
I love this self help guru and have read almost all of her books. This was one of the first ones I read that got me hooked. She also has guided meditations to download that go with chapters in the book.
“Lots of people are selling “happiness” these days, but in her hip self-transformation book, Add More -ing to Your Life, motivational speaker and life coach Gabrielle Bernstein truly shows you how to make happiness a way of life by accessing your -ing—your Inner Guide.”
Adventures For Your Soul
Honestly I originally bought this book just based on the pretty cover and title but it was really good and all about changing habits that aren’t benefiting you.
“Adventures For Your Soul– Sometimes the one thing you need to make a change is to see things from a fresh perspective. Discover twenty-one innovative emotional explorations to boldly confront the habits that are holding you back in this breakthrough guide that provides the tools you need to fearlessly embrace your innermost desires.”
The Happiness Project
This feel good book shows you how small changes can have a big impact on your happiness. The author takes you on her year long journey of finding happiness.
“The Happiness Project– What if you could change your life without really changing your life? On the outside, Gretchen Rubin had it all — a good marriage, healthy children and a successful career — but she knew something was missing. Determined to end that nagging feeling, she set out on a year-long quest to learn how to better enjoy the life she already had.”
