I am now a resident of Lake Country! After only few days here I am already obsessed. We have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather by exploring our new surroundings and eating all of the amazing food.
My day of travel began at 5 am trying to give the cats gravol which was a fail even though they had taken is days prior. I did some final packing and then spent a good 20 minutes chasing the cats around the house trying to get them into their kennel. I left the house at 6:15 dreading the drive with the cats. Well all that worrying about it for weeks was for nothing because they were great and only cried the first hour and were pretty much silent after that.
11 hours later I arrived in Coldstream to stay the night at my grandmas before moving into our new place the following day. Of course something was bound to happen during the move, our dog got into rat poison. Fortunately he didn’t eat any and only had a quick trip to the vet to throw up and be checked over.
Our New Home
Our new little home is in Lake Country on an apple orchard called ‘Apple Acres B&B’. We are renting out their carriage house over the garage for the next 7 months. We hope our house in Houston sells before then so we can buy a home down here in the spring.
I love our new place and especially love the property. The landlords are very friendly and great at making us feel at home. They run their b&b year round, board horses, make apple juice and bring produce from their garden to the farmers market. If you are ever in the area and looking for somewhere to stay I highly recommend Apple Acres!
