What’s in my gym bag?
Moving has been the best thing for my fitness due to a new gym with all sorts of fun classes to try out. I got a gym membership a few days after moving to Lake Country at ‘Bodyz In Motion’. This is by no means a new fancy gym but it is a good size and has everything that I need. I love all the classes that run throughout the day. It’s my goal to try every class by the end of October. So far I have tried Bootcamp, Barre, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Power Yoga and Super Set Strength. The instructors have all been awesome and continue to make me unable to move the next morning.
Since I am now spending more time at the gym I wanted to share what I take with me to get me through a sweaty session. I will link any items that I can below. If you have a gym bag essential please leave it in the comments as I am always looking for recommendations!
I have been using this Lululemon tote bag for the past 5 years. It is deep with two inner and one outer pocket as well as a zipper along the bottom that can be extended so basically it can hold a lot of stuff. It has the strap to be a messenger style bag or the two smaller straps to carry. Since this bag is 5 years old I am not able to link it but check out Lululemon when searching for your next gym or travel bag. Mine has held up so well over the years.
Can’t forget these! Everyone has there own preference and what works best for them. I love the Nike Free Run and own three pairs. I have had these runners for close to 4 years and wear them daily. I should probably treat myself to a new pair soon. One of the main things I love about them is how light they are and that they don’t weigh down my gym bag.
I recently purchased a marble pattern S’well dupe for under $15 and I’m kicking myself for not just splurging on the real thing. The bottle claims to keep cold for 24 hrs and hot for 12 hrs but it doesn’t even keep my water cold for an hour. So if you are looking for a new water bottle get the real thing! Here is the link to the S’well bottle I should have bought.
Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t go anywhere without my hand sanitizer. My absolute favourite is the Bath and Body Works PocketBac mini sanitizer. First off the size is perfect for my purse. They are cheap and smell amazing. A girl at the gym complimented me on my perfume as we were leaving class a few nights ago and couldn’t believe it when I showed her the hand sanitizer I had just used.
I have talked about these hair ties in my June favourites post. The ‘Invisibobble’ in the extra strong grip is what I use to hold back my thick hair. I have never had to fix my hair while working out because the grip is insane.
I always keep my Clean Queen travel size deodorant by Tarte in my gym bag just in case i forget to use it before the gym. I love that it’s aluminum free and all natural and has a light vanilla scent. If you want a small and convenient deodorant for on the go this is a great option.
I learned this one the hard way. In the summer I always wear flip-flops which means 9/10 times I forget to pack socks. I HATE wearing runners without socks and most of the time would drive home to get them rather than be uncomfortable my whole workout. Now I keep a spare pair of socks in my gym bag and my vehicle.
I mainly use my headphones while doing cardio to listen to podcasts or an iBook. I stole my husbands wireless headphones and love them! So nice to not constantly have a cord hanging and getting in the way. But seriously the best part is not having to untangle them every time I go to use them.
