Okanagan Favourites & Giveaway
Let me start with saying I love living in the Okanagan. It’s truly a dream come true and I am loving every minute of it. There are so many different farmers markets to check out full of unique and handmade items. I wanted to share with you my favourite Okanagan made items that I have fallen in love with. It’s always a great feeling supporting a local business rather than a big box store. Don’t worry you don’t have to be living in the Okanagan to get your hands on these items as they all will ship to you!
Earth Elements Farm Products
I am obsessed with Earth Elements after falling in love with their lilac hand lotion after purchasing it at Blooming Arrangments in Houston a few years ago. I recently got to visit their shop in Lumby where the products are sold and picked up some new candles. All their candles are handcrafted soy with paper wicks and scented with essential oils. Their lilac candle and body lotion is my all time favourite scent and is enough to fill up a room with a natural lilac scent. My second favourite is the coconut & lime, perfect for a lighter scent. If you live in the Okanagan go visit the store in Lumby to smell everything in person. If you are from Houston you can stop at Blooming Arrangments or if you are from anywhere else in the world you can order from the link below!
Oyama Soap Company
My grandma introduced me to these great smelling and all natural soaps made in Oyama. She always had them at her house and I loved the smell and how soft my skin felt after. We headed to the farmers market and bought a bunch more. I have been using these soaps for close to 2 years now. My favourites are the coconut & mango, sweet pea and my all time favourite is Kalamalka beach. Not only do they smell amazing they also look pretty and make the perfect little gift!
“Creating community one cup at a time.”-Chaibaba
My sister told me about this tea place when I first moved here so I went to check it out and had the most amazing chai ever. When Anthoni gets a caramel apple tea and says it’s the best thing ever you know it’s good because he isn’t even a tea drinker. Chocolate chai and coconut chai with their homemade almond milk is a real treat.
They sell bags of loose leaf tea that they make and I purchased a bag the last time I was there. For $4 I got a small bag of ‘Tropical Ocean” herbal tea and let me tell you the pieces in the tea are massive! You are 100% getting your money’s worth and it’s amazing tea. This is my new go to place for loose leaf tea and a good tea latte. Next time you are checking out downtown Kelowna skip Starbucks and give Chaibaba a chance. You can also order all of their loose leaf tea blends online.
November 17th 2017 is my 1 year blogiversary! I am blown away with all the support and feedback from my readers. After thinking about starting a blog for years I finally jumped and started making it happen. This had to be the hardest thing I have ever done. Every step of the way was a learning curve and would make me want to hit my head against a wall. I did not give up and it lead me to one of the things I enjoy most in life, this blog.
Blogging on an ancient laptop my mom let me borrow, an ipad and an iphone for photos I began this journey. Proving you don’t need fancy equipment or the latest technology to start a blog. I can tell I have come a long way since I started with my writing, photography and most important confidence. I am super excited to see what year 2 brings for this little blog and for myself.
Okay the part I know you are all waiting for…….the giveaway will be a bar of soap from Oyama Soap Company, a bag of loose leaf tea from Chaibaba and a candle from Earth Elements Farm Products.
